Welcome to another week in our beautiful Alaska Spring!

Our Team Meeting is coming up this week on Thursday, 4/20. In order to help us have a good discussion at the Team Meeting, let's prepare by giving you the agenda ahead of time (well, at least some of it).
Guest speaker from SureSmile to review their clear aligner system.
Review our goals including the new Goal Boards at HCD.
NPEX and Comp Exam Protocol
Scheduling Treatment
We have lots to discuss under Scheduling Treatment and will most likely continue that conversation into the next meeting. Bring your pens, your binders, and your smiles, because we're going to have a fabulous time!
CASSETTES

We are currently working on developing the best cassettes for the doctors. We need help in organizing what we have to determine what we need. Assistants, during your down time, please meet with Te to help figure out what needs to be done including finding which instruments we need to order to complete her setups.
Hygienists, we have multiple instruments out right now being retipped. If you need new instruments, please look into what have already from Diane's previous instruments. We have lots of extras that may or may not be necessary. I do want to make sure you're aware of what we have available to you as it might work better in place of instruments you may currently be using.
THE COTTEN METHOD OF SCREENING
In honor of National Oral Cancer Screening Awareness Month, RDH magazine sent out this infograph showing the Cotten Method of Screening. Its purpose is to help increase your ability to assess a patient's oral cancer risk factors. Looks like great information! You can also listen to a webinar hosted by MouthWatch HERE for more details on this method.
HbA1c IN-OFFICE POINT OF SERVICE TESTING
We have an A1c meter at HCD that is available for use with our patients when it's determined to be necessary. We will review how to use it at our upcoming team meeting. This file is the ADA's 2019 Quick Guide to In-Office Monitoring and Documenting Patient Blood Glucose and HbA1C Level. Please review this before we meet on Thursday to help lead our discussion. You can also check out this website from Georgia's ADHA regarding WHY we are conducting these tests in our practice. A HUGE thank you to Kathleen for helping us get moving in this direction and for her research! <3
MEDICAID/MEDICARE OFFICES
We sometimes get calls asking if we take Medicaid or Medicare. Of course, neither office does, but we can still direct them to our recommended offices that will hopefully provide them a good experience. You can use this LIST to see if the doctor takes Medicare/Medicaid. It's a little old, but still has good information. For specific offices, this is the information I know. If you know of another great Medicare practice, please share with the team!
Anchorage Adults: Frost Dental, True North.
Anchorage Pediatrics: Denali Pediatric, Alaska Dentistry for Kids, Bite Size Pediatrics
Palmer: Dr. Jody Sessom - don't know their practice, but it was the only one listed for Palmer that was open.
This information is good for us to have as it shows our community that we're interested in more than their pocketbooks. We're interested in them receiving the best care available to them with the resources they have. Just like "Miracle on 34th Street"...
Sorry the words don't sync with the video LOL. What's your favorite thing about spring? Send me an emoji to let me know!
