About these headlines... A reminder to everyone that these blogs or updates are required reading for our team. When you choose to read them is up to you. If you read them at home, please put a note on your timesheet reflecting additional 10 minutes to be included on your next pay period. Since this is required reading, you are responsible to follow the content within and we are responsible to pay you for your time in reading it. Please let me know if you have any questions. With that said, let's get started!
Updated March Schedule
With all the changes to our team this month, this is the updated schedule for the last week of March. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up and stepped in to make it as smooth as possible every day.
We are continuing to look for a new team member for our front desk. If you know of anyone you think will be a great candidate for the team, please send them my way or to Leah. Your input and referrals are greatly valued!
Diane's Schedule
Major changes are coming to Diane's schedule starting in June. The Appointment Book has already been changed to reflect the new times. Her schedule will be as follows:
Tuesday 9:30AM-6:30PM
Wednesday and Thursday 7:30AM-1:30PM
Do not book outside of these hours as the patient will need to be called to reschedule their appointment.
Employment Benefits
As a team member at HCD whether you are part time or full time, you have multiple benefits available to you. I've included the full description of each one. If you have not received any of these benefits or are interested in adding or changing your benefits, please let me know and we'll make it how you want it.
Premera BCBS of Alaska is our current health insurance provider. As you might guess, the premiums for insurance are going up this year. That means the semimonthly deduction from your paycheck will be $138 vs. $126.20 it is now. Remember this plan includes an HSA element. With the HSA you can set aside money tax free to cover healthcare costs. If that money is not used by the end of the year, the money is rolled over into the next year. If you never use it, it becomes a retirement plan for you. We will have a Premera specialist come speak to us next month to provide more information since April is our open enrollment time.
April Schedule - DRAFT
Here is a quick peek into April. There may be changes along the way, but for right now, this ist he schedule we're planning on. Please review and let me know if you have any questions.
Coach & Be Coached
It can be hard to receive critiques, criticism or coaching from others when you feel like you're doing your best. As team members at HCD, we are always in movement whether we're learning, progressing on our goals, trying not to drown, or doing the dead man's pose in the pool. With these movements, we cannot always be perfect in our tasks. We all need to be guided and reminded of the commitments we've made to each other, ourselves, and our patients. We also need to be reminded of protocol and procedures that help make this practice run smoothly. So when your team mate reaches out to you and offers to help you either learn a new task or refresh your memory of an old task, welcome the opportunity to learn and grow. Receive with graciousness and gratitude, because even if they're "wrong," you can find a "right" in what they are telling you. Thank you for your kindness and your openness with one another.
