Hello, HCD! It's been so quiet at the office with so many of us out this week. It'll be nice to see everyone's happy faces on Monday and/or Tuesday next week!

We currently have job postings for a Sterilization Technician, Administrative Support, and Hygienist. If you know of anyone that would work well in those positions, please send them our way. Feel free to share my email and phone number! The best way for us to bring on team members that match our culture and our needs is to have the team that knows the culture and needs best help us with recruitment. Right now everything is on Craigslist so you can send your friends there, as well.

AUGUST SCHEDULE

Again, we continue to have multiple moving parts with our schedule in August. Please review the schedule and let Kolina know if you have any questions or concerns. And thank you to everyone turning in their vacation requests whether for 2024 or the rest of this year. The sooner we know, the easier it is to take the time off.

And quick, gentle reminder... We still need a few 2024 vacation times from our providers. Your name is on the Conference Room door if we haven't received yours :)

CLINIC MOMENT: REDUCE HORIZONTAL OVERLAP

ree

This goes out to all our clinicians taking x-rays. Found this article on how to reduce radiation exposure for your patients by improving your skills at x-rays. Please read and let's talk about it at our team meeting. Practice the different techniques and let us know if it made a difference for you. Read the article HERE.

PREPARING FOR IMPROVED MAINTENANCE

We recently met with Burkhart regarding the maintenance requirements for various pieces of equipment throughout the clinic. We are compiling the lists to break it down to daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks. We will be tracking these maintenance lists as part of our OSHA protocol. This might mean some changes in our usual routines including turning off the chairs at night. Did you know the water bottle should be emptied every night and the handpieces should all be run until every bit of water is out of the hose? This lengthens the life span of the water bottles and prevent water build-up in the handpieces which leads to deterioration.

This is a heads up for everyone as we will discuss it in more detail at the team meeting. If you have questions or other insights on maintenance, please be prepared to discuss them on Thursday.

BREACH SECURITY TRAINING

ree

We still have multiple team members that need to complete their security training and give me a copy of their certification showing it was completed. If you need the information emailed to your email again, please let me know. You are welcome to complete this at work. If you do so at home, please let me know and we'll add that time to your timesheet as this is a required training. If you haven't completed the training and need a reminder, your name is on the list on the Conference Room door. If EVERYONE has it done by Thursday, we will have a Moose's Tooth Pizza day! So please help your teammate complete their training through encouragement or force. Whichever you think will help them the most... jk. Be kind.

REVIEWING YOUR HCD PERSPECTIVE

It was a great conversation we started at our last team meeting. We're going to pick up on this again on Thursday, 8/10. If you haven't completed your form or you missed out at the last meeting, please see me and let's work on it together. We're going to take those points you made about your HCD perspective and start to piece them together. I've included a link to take you to the last headline that talked more about that in detail HERE. These questions should be completed before we meet on Thursday:

  • What are the three most important things we do at HCD that if they went away or didn't happen smoothly would be a detriment to everything else?

  • What makes those three things so important?

  • How do we ensure those things are completed smoothly, timely, and accurately?

  • What things do we do at HCD that support those things either directly or indirectly?

I'd also love to have everyone there in person at the team meeting. We're working on developing our future structure as a team and individuals at HCD. Your input is vital as you are vital to our success. I want you to be a part of the planning so please do your best to be with us that morning.

For this headline's emoji, please send the emoji that matches your spirit animal. Feel free to make one up if you don't have one or you can go to this website to help you figure it out HERE. Thank you all for your time and your help in making HCD a great place to be every day!
