Welcome to a new year! With the new year comes the reminder to ensure all your demographic information is correct with HR. Please review your paystubs to ensure accuracy with your address and your email. If you'd like a new W4 for this year, follow this link to fill it out and provide me with a signed copy.

It's also a great time to review your beneficiary's information for your life policies and/or 401(k) plans. If you'd like to update that information, please let me know and I'll provide you with the correct forms.
Lastly, if you'd like to contribute to the 401(k) or to an HSA through HCD's medical insurance plan, please let me know in order to get your contributions into your chosen account and growing ASAP.
Clocking Out for Providers
If you are leaving early or coming in late due to no patients, please indicate this using the event blocks and your initials. When there are no patients or blocks, those times are counted as open hours or opportunities missed. Moving into a new year, let's make this a habit to use the events to show OUT when you're not at the practice.
Updating Insurance
When patients visit any dental specialist, we need to make sure our insurance estimates are updated. We typically receive correspondence or a report from the specialist to let us know the patient came in and what treatment was done. Please use that report as a reminder to check on their insurance benefits to avoid unexpected out of pocket costs when the patient returns to us for treatment.
Poppers for Anxiety

We have new toys to help our patients with high anxiety relax while in the chair. We have 4 of these poppers for patients to use while getting treatment done. These toys have been proven to reduce anxiety by helping the person change their focus. You can learn more about them HERE. You can find them in the x-ray/nitrous/blanket/server/room-across-the-hall-from-op7. Please remember to return them to their home at the end of the day after they've been thoroughly wiped down.
Using the Hydrim
Thanks to Te we were able to have a good one-on-one training with Louis this past Thursday regarding the use of the new dishwasher, a.k.a the Hydrim, a.k.a. the non-Miele. You can go HERE to watch our video. You can go here to watch the more professionally done video HERE. I highly recommend you watch the video again to learn the details to our specific machine to prevent frustration, error codes, and to increase the number of smiles you see throughout the clinic.
*P.S. We learned from Louis that the Hydrim should be turned off at the end of every week. The machine will function best when it gets a rest. With this in mind, let's stop using the Hydrim at 2PM every Friday. This will allow for a final cycle to complete and for us to turn off the machine without making anyone stay for overtime. Thanks for informing us of this, Edmel! :)
New ADA Codes

You can always expect new, deleted, or revised ADA codes at the beginning of every year. This time we have 16 new codes, 5 deleted, and 13 revised. This is a great site showing us the details on these changes. The deleted codes are not very pertinent to us, but we will definitely focus on the new and revised codes.
We have the new books also available at Kolina's desk. This is their home. Please make sure they go back to their home at the end of the day.
You'll notice two other books available for your perusal. The book for medical conditions and the drug book will be available in Dr. Marchant's office on his bookshelf. This is their home. Please make sure they go back to their home at the end of the day.
Team Meeting Reminders
Finally, just a few points to remember from our last team meeting.
Uniforms - look to the color of the tags to find your correct size.
Small: light purple
Medium: hot pink
Large: blue
The men's uniforms will be stored by the doctors' offices to help reduce confusion.
If you found any scrubs with the wrong tag, please pull them out of circulation in order for Kathleen to fix them.
Warranty - If you have completed work that was previously done by an HCD provider, please use the WARRANTY adjustment using the previous provider's name. Do not code the adjustment to the new provider that fixed the problem. However, if the current provider did the treatment that is being corrected, use the current provider's name.
