Welcome to May and all its glorious sunshine! (doot-doo-doo-doo-doot-doo)

You may have seen signs around the office informing you of the current "#RideABikeWithHCD Giveaway" we have going on social media right now. Even though you can't win because you're an employee, you can still help us reach others by sharing with your peeps. We'd love your support with that!

June Schedule

Here is the schedule for June. We are currently looking for a fill-in to help us with multiple days in June. Please let me know if you know of anyone with assisting experience willing to help us out. Also, because of this shortage, we cannot approve any more leave in June. Thank you for your understanding.

Lastly please remember to review days when your team will be out before making any solid plans outside of HCD. And if you sign off on your team mate's leave form, please mark your calendar so you remember to cover that time.

End of Day Lists

Thank you to the assistants that put together our End of Day list for the clinic checklist. This is now located above the white board when entering the wet lab. Please remember to go through this list for your op and the shared spaces throughout the clinic every night. We appreciate your attention to details that help ensure everything continues to run smoothly and efficiently.

Desensitizing Material

Do you know the difference between code D9910 and D9911? Both are to desensitize the tooth, but they represent different material.

  • If you are going to use Gluma, use D9910.

  • If you are going to use a resin based material such as..., use D9911.

Thanks to Guadalupe for giving us the heads up on this difference after her recent continuing education course!

Words That Matter from LionSpeak

This blog just came out from one of the dental coaches we follow, LionSpeak. I appreciate the information on choosing words that will uplift your team or the message you're trying to share. As I read through their examples, I can see how one is uplifting and the other focuses on the hardship which can potentially bring back bad memories or feelings. Both words are important, but choosing the more uplifting term can help your team get behind you and feel like something great was accomplished vs. overcome (overcame? overcomed? - I don't know).

Read the article here: https://www.lionspeak.net/words-that-matter/, and share with your team what is important to you when it comes to communication.
