Vaccination Questions

At the front desk, we have been fielding questions regarding the status of our teams' vaccinations for COVID. This information is part of our team's individual PHI (personal health information) and is protected by HIPAA. This is a conversation we've already had at the front desk and we've come up with wording to use for these conversations. Please review the following and use this information with your patients as needed.

Long version: I understand protection from COVID-19 is very important to you, as it is for us, too. We continue to follow COVID guidelines and procedures recommended by the CDC and the State of Alaska. We use universal precautions to ensure each room is ready for the next patient. When it comes to the personal choices of our team, we cannot share whether or not our team members are vaccinated as this is their personal health information. Their privacy is protected by HIPAA and we have no authorization to share their information. You are welcome to speak with them directly about your concerns regarding vaccination with the understanding that they are not obligated to share their personal health information with you.
Short version: I understand protection from COVID-19 is very important to you, as it is for us, too. Rest assured we always follow universal precautions to reduce your risk of being exposed to COVID-19 and other potential issues while in our practice. Due to HIPAA regulations and personal privacy issues, we cannot share with you whether or not a team member is vaccinated.

COVID-19 Update

We recently received updated news from the Alaska Dental Society regarding COVID regulations for dental offices. It falls in line with what we are currently doing at this time. You can read more about it below. We will continue to wear masks as a team while interacting with patients until further notice.

Sterilization Bags

We still have a few sterilization bags coming through that are not sealed properly. Jane recently went through every drawer and repackaged each instrument to ensure it was sealed and sterilized properly. Please take the time to go slowly and seal each bag properly. This will ensure each instrument is sterile and reduce waste.

Scrub Hangers

Have you ever felt like you're trying to find Waldo when you're searching through the scrub closet in the morning for your scrubs? To help reduce time spent on searching, please remove the wire hangers and hang them up by the changing area. This simple step will make a HUGE difference.

Cancer Patient Baskets

Our baskets are ready to deliver to our patients undergoing cancer therapy. If you'd like to deliver a basket, please speak with someone from our marketing committee (Leah, Kolina, Te, and Rachael). We'd love to have your help in personally delivering these items to our patients that need extra special attention at this time.
